We’re looking for a Head of Marketing to take Loft’s brand to the next level—someone who can build excitement around our mission, craft compelling narratives, and elevate Loft’s position as a leader in the space industry. This role is all about strategy, storytelling, and scaling—developing a strong brand presence, driving thought leadership, and ensuring our messaging resonates with employees, customers, and investors.
This is a player-coach role—you’ll be setting the vision while also rolling up your sleeves to bring ideas to life. Given the technical nature of our work, we need someone who can translate complex ideas into clear, engaging content that sparks interest and builds credibility. You’ll also be working with globally distributed teams, specifically our team in France, so experience leading across time zones and cultures is key.
As we scale, this is a rare opportunity to continue to grow, shape, and scale the marketing function at a post Series-C company in the space sector. About the Role:
- Brand & Thought Leadership: Build and expand the Loft brand presence and reputation, elevating Loft’s position as a leader in Space. Lead storytelling efforts that translate complex technical ideas into compelling, easy-to-understand content for diverse stakeholders.
- Marketing Team Leadership & Growth: Hire, develop, and manage a high-performing marketing team with diverse skill sets, ensuring strong execution across all marketing functions. Proven ability to manage, develop, and mentor lean teams across multiple marketing disciplines and multiple time zones.
- Strategic & Tactical Execution: Develop and implement an integrated marketing strategy that balances long-term brand positioning with short-term ad hoc projects.
- Executive & Stakeholder Management: Partner closely with the CEO and COO, executive team, and external stakeholders (including investors and key customers) to align marketing efforts with company objectives.
- Go-to-Market & Growth Strategy: Oversee the launch of new products and services, working cross-functionally with engineering, business development, and business operations teams to drive market adoption and elevate brand awareness.
- Corporate Communications & PR: Develop and execute a strategic external communications plan, including media relations, thought leadership, and crisis management, to enhance brand reputation and visibility.
- Financial and Budgeting: Develop and oversee marketing budgets for campaigns, swag, printing, and vendor partnerships—ensuring cost efficiency, accurate forecasting, and ROI-driven spending while negotiating contracts, tracking expenses, and optimizing resource allocation.
Must Haves:
- 10+ years of experience in marketing, with a track record of building and leading teams in technical industries (e.g., deep tech, SaaS, aerospace, defense, AI, or complex B2B solutions). Deep expertise in narrative building and translating complex technical topics into accessible, engaging content for various audiences in the US and Europe.
- Demonstrated experience leading geographically dispersed multi-disciplinary teams across creative, content, communications, and brand functions - providing strategic direction, removing roadblocks, and ensuring alignment with company objectives to drive high-impact marketing initiatives without needing to be the subject matter expertise in every discipline.
- Proven history of comprehensive budget planning and ownership for campaigns, events, swag, printing, and vendor partnerships—developing cost-effective allocation plans, negotiating contracts, and ensuring quality, while also handling hands-on tasks like reviewing invoices, tracking expenses, and coordinating last-minute orders.
- Ability to partner with founders, investors, and key stakeholders to shape complex ideas into clear, engaging content—whether for messaging, brand strategy, videos, events, or website experiences. Manage expectations, prioritize effectively, and transform passing suggestions into actionable options before bringing them to the team. Hands-on execution could include crafting content-rich brand sotry for an upcoming constellation launch.
- Experience owning corporate communications and public relations, ensuring consistent, high-impact messaging across media, industry, and internal stakeholders. Established relationships with key media, journalists, and industry influencers to drive PR efforts - whether leading the announcement of a new constellation, a major fundraising milestone, or driving engagement for executive presence at key industry events in France.
- Track record of executing comprehensive event strategy for for high-profile stakeholder conferences—developing the vision, securing executive buy-in, and seamlessly shifting from high-level planning to hands-on problem-solving, such as adjusting logistics or troubleshooting A/V issues on-site.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience leading marketing in a scaling startup (Series B+ preferred) with a focus on both growth and brand development while optimizing budgets and implementing process improvements for greater efficiency and scalability.
- Background in international marketing strategies specifically those targeted at customers in Europe —adapting messaging, campaigns, and go-to-market approaches to align with regional market dynamics, cultural nuances, and regulatory requirements.
- Crisis communications experience to help manage sensitive situations and protect company reputation including launch failures, regulatory challenges, and geopolitical issues. Track record of partnering with executive leadership, government agencies, and media to ensure transparent, timely messaging that protects brand reputation and maintains stakeholder trust.
- Proven ability to craft compelling narratives and execute high-impact content across websites, social platforms, and product marketing. Deep expertise in writing, copywriting, and creative storytelling, including video and visual assets, with the ability to step in and independently develop or refine content when needed to ensure brand consistency and engagement.
- Proficiency in French is a plus, enabling stronger collaboration with European teams and stakeholders.

Who We Are
Loft Orbital builds “shareable” satellites, providing a fast & simple path to orbit for organizations that require access to space. Powered by our hardware & software products, we operate satellites, fly customer payloads onboard, and handle entire missions from end to end - significantly reducing the lead-time and risk of a traditional space mission.
Our standard interface enables us to fly multiple customer payloads on the same satellite, with capabilities such as earth imagery, weather & climate /science data collection, IoT connectivity, in-orbit demonstrations, and national security missions.
