Job Overview

Intuit's Consumer Group powers TurboTax and TurboTax Live — serving tens of millions of customers each tax season. At the heart of our operational excellence is the ability to accurately predict customer demand and translate it into expert supply — getting the right experts, in the right channels, at the right time.

We are looking for a Manager 2, Data Science to lead the Demand Planning Data Science team within the Consumer Group's Expert Network (ICS). This is a high-impact, high-visibility role that sits at the intersection of advanced forecasting, operational strategy, and cross-functional leadership. You will own the models, methodologies, and insights that drive how Intuit plans for and responds to customer demand across Full Service and Assisted Tax products.


Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data scientists focused on demand forecasting, capacity signal generation, and supply-demand optimization
  • Foster a culture of rigor, curiosity, and business impact — translating complex modeling outputs into operationally actionable recommendations
  • Partner with WFM, Finance, and Product to embed DS outputs into planning workflows and decision-making cycles

Demand Forecasting & Modeling

  • Own end-to-end demand forecasting models for the Consumer Group, spanning pre-season, in-season, and off-season horizons
  • Drive advancement of forecasting methodology — from traditional time-series approaches to ML-based demand signals incorporating product funnel, marketing, and macroeconomic signals
  • Ensure model accuracy, confidence intervals, and scenario planning outputs meet the needs of SLT and operational teams

Operational & Strategic Partnership

  • Serve as the primary DS partner to Workforce Management and Capacity Planning leadership, translating forecast outputs into staffing and partner capacity recommendations
  • Lead regular forecast review cadences with Finance, Service Delivery, and Marketing stakeholders
  • Support executive-facing narratives on demand outlook, risk, and opportunity (e.g., CEO staff, SLT briefings)

Data Infrastructure & Governance

  • Partner with Data Engineering to ensure upstream data pipelines (e.g., Intuit datalake, capacityplandatasetv3, FSO funnel tables) are fTeam Leadership & Development

Qualifications

Required

  • 7+ years of experience in data science, with at least 2+ years managing or leading teams
  • Deep expertise in demand forecasting, time-series modeling, and/or supply-demand optimization
  • Proficiency in Python and/or R; experience with SQL and large-scale data environments (e.g., Hive, Spark, BigQuery)
  • Proven ability to translate model outputs into business decisions — comfortable presenting to senior leaders
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, particularly with Finance, Operations, and Product teams
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field

Preferred

  • Experience in a high-seasonality, high-velocity business (tax, retail, financial services, gig economy)
  • Familiarity with WFM and capacity planning concepts (headcount modeling, shrinkage, interval-level forecasting)
  • Experience operating within matrixed organizations and influencing without direct authority
  • Exposure to partner/vendor capacity models (TPAs, BPOs, staffing networks)

Pay offered is based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.
