VP, HR Business Partner, Accelerating Functions

Category Human Resources, Executive Location Mountain View, California Job ID 22458

Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

This role is the HR leader for the People & Places (P&P) organization and the other accelerating functions (Finance, Legal, and Corporate Strategy & Development). As a member of the P&P senior leadership team, the role has two connected mandates.

The first is serving as the strategic HRBP for the P&P leadership team - running the people agenda for the function. That includes org design, succession, leadership development, team effectiveness, and ensuring P&P has the talent and organizational health to deliver on its commitments. For Finance, Legal, and Strategy, a Director HRBP handles day-to-day partnership. This VP is the senior people strategy partner and escalation point for those groups.

The second is driving the P&P transformation agenda, in partnership with the COE and business aligned HRBP leaders. This VP's job is to work across the P&P leadership team to help those leaders collectively identify the highest-value opportunities to modernize how People & Places operates, align on a strategy, and build a credible execution plan. Once strategy is set, this person works through existing execution partners to drive delivery.

Responsibilities

Strategic HRBP — People & Places

  • Serve as the primary HR leader for the P&P leadership team, owning the people strategy for the function and acting as a trusted partner to the CPPO on organizational and talent priorities

  • Drive multi-year organizational and talent strategies for P&P, including org design, succession planning, and leadership bench development at VP and Director level

  • Lead team effectiveness work with the P&P leadership team - facilitating sessions, building social architecture, and strengthening how the leadership team operates together

  • Use workforce data and people insights to identify talent risks and opportunities within P&P and bring a clear point of view to the CPPO

  • Partner with the P&P COEs to deliver integrated people solutions for P&P

  • Drive improvement in key people metrics including engagement, internal mobility, and regrettable attrition

  • Grow HRBP capability across the People & Places organization

P&P function transformation

  • Work across the P&P leadership team to identify the highest-value opportunities to modernize how People & Places operates - bringing structure and a clear point of view to a conversation the COE leaders need to own together

  • Partner with COE leaders to translate identified opportunities into a prioritized transformation roadmap with clear milestones and accountabilities

  • Work through Shared Services, the PMO, and the PRT team to drive execution once transformation priorities are set - this role sets direction and ensures accountability, not duplicate delivery capacity

  • Bring AI fluency to the transformation agenda - identify where emerging tools can meaningfully improve how P&P operates and partner with the relevant COE and tech teams to act on those opportunities

  • Maintain a current-state view of P&P capabilities and pain points to ensure the transformation roadmap stays grounded in reality

Senior people partner — accelerating functions

  • Serve as the senior people strategy partner and escalation point for Finance, Legal, and Strategy leadership teams

  • Partner with function heads on multi-year talent strategy, org design, and leadership bench development

  • Provide coaching and counsel to senior leaders on organizational change, team effectiveness, and people decisions

  • Use workforce data to identify talent risks and opportunities across the accelerating functions

Qualifications

A senior HR leader with genuine credibility across the People & Places function — someone who has operated at this level before and can earn trust quickly with a CPPO, a set of COE heads, and a C-suite client group.

They understand how transformation actually happens in large organizations: not by taking over each function's agenda, but by creating the conditions for leaders to see the opportunity clearly, align on a path, and hold themselves accountable to it. They are as comfortable facilitating a P&P leadership team offsite as they are building a succession plan or pressure-testing a transformation roadmap.

They bring real AI fluency as a practical lens for identifying where technology can change how HR operates. And they combine that with strong execution instincts: able to move from strategy to action, work through existing delivery infrastructure, and hold accountability across complex initiatives.

Experience & qualifications

Required

  • 12+ years of progressive HR leadership, including senior roles with broad P&P scope

  • Demonstrated experience as a strategic HRBP for senior or executive-level client groups, with direct accountability for organizational and talent outcomes

  • Experience working across multiple HR COEs or functional domains

  • Track record of leading or enabling large-scale HR transformation, from opportunity identification through execution

  • Practical AI fluency — understanding of how emerging tools can modernize HR operations and employee experiences

  • Strong execution skills — able to set direction, work through existing delivery infrastructure, and maintain accountability across complex cross-functional initiatives

Preferred

  • Experience operating as the HRBP for a CHRO or CPO and their leadership team

  • Background in HR technology strategy or digital enablement of HR functions

  • Experience supporting Finance, Legal, or Strategy functions as an HRBP

  • Hands-on experience with AI-powered HR platforms, workforce analytics, or process automation
