Staff Product Designer, Mid-Market Industry Solutions
Company Overview
Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.
Job Overview
At Intuit, the Mid-Market team is on a mission to ensure customers can grow with us as their business grows. We are transforming QuickBooks from a self-serve accounting tool into a sales-led, AI-driven platform built for the way growing businesses actually operate — across industries that have never had purpose-built software.
As a Staff Product Designer on the Industry Solutions team, you will lead design for one or more of our industry verticals — Construction, Nonprofit, Franchise, Healthcare, Field Services, or Manufacturing — bringing deep domain understanding to complex, real-world business problems while connecting your vertical work to the broader QuickBooks platform.
This is a role for someone who wants to set vision, not just execute on it. You'll define the design direction for your vertical in partnership with your PM and Eng triad, shape AI-first workflows that reflect how industry professionals actually work, and help establish design patterns that scale across the QB ecosystem.
This role requires strong systems thinking, genuine curiosity about industry-specific problems, and the ability to operate at both a strategic and executional level — from north-star vision to shipped product.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end design strategy and execution across one or more industry verticals, driving cohesive experiences across planning, workflows, financial insights, and AI-powered assistance
- Define and evolve AI-native interaction models, balancing automation with user control and flexibility across workflows.
- Own complex, cross-surface systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across features, tools, and emerging platform patterns.
- Translate ambiguous, complex problem spaces (AI-assisted workflows, project operations, financial insights) into clear, intuitive, and extensible experiences.
- Drive alignment across cross-functional partners (PM, Engineering, Data, Research), influencing product direction and prioritization.
- Shape product and design strategy, contributing to roadmap definition and identifying high-impact opportunities across the domain.
- Elevate design quality and craft, setting a high bar for interaction, visual design, and storytelling across the team.
- Leverage data and research to inform decisions, define success metrics, and iterate on solutions.
- Champion AI design practices, integrating generative AI and automation into workflows to improve speed, accuracy, and usability.
- Establish and scale patterns and frameworks that can be reused across teams, contributing to platform consistency and design systems evolution.
- Mentor and guide other designers, providing feedback, raising the level of craft, and influencing team culture.
- Communicate a strong point of view, using clear rationale grounded in user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
- Partner closely with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation and feasibility of complex interactions.
Qualifications
- 6–8+ years of experience in product design, interaction design, or related fields, with experience operating at a senior or staff level.
- Proven ability to lead design across complex, ambiguous domains and deliver end-to-end experiences.
- Strong systems thinking and experience designing scalable frameworks across multiple surfaces or products.
- Demonstrated experience designing AI-powered or data-driven experiences, with an understanding of how to balance automation and user control.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration and influence, with the ability to align stakeholders and drive decisions.
- Strong design craft across interaction and visual design, with a high bar for quality and attention to detail.
- Experience using data and research to inform design decisions and measure impact.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly and persuasively.
- Experience contributing to or evolving design systems, patterns, or platform-level solutions.
