Job Overview

Position Description: Director, Business Operations - Commercial Operations

Reports to: Vice President, Commercial Operations

Organization: Commercial

Location: Mountain View, CA

Overview

Intuit is a global platform company that is on a mission to power prosperity around the world for consumers and businesses. Across our leading brands – Turbo Tax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp – Intuit serves over 100M customers and is one of the few companies in the world to have both a thriving consumer and business ecosystem. Intuit is known for its innovation track record, customer centricity, and its consistent recognition as a top place to work.

Within Intuit, the Commercial Group is $3B+ in annual revenue and solves key jobs such as getting paid and getting capital, and paying and managing workers. Across these experiences we are revolutionizing speed to benefit by evolving from end-to-end workflows where our customers do the work to done-for-you experiences where the work is done for our customers. We are creating transformative product experiences powered by AI Agents where businesses expect Intuit, as their source of truth and system of record for their financials, to provide intelligent insights into their cash flow and upcoming expenses, to help them get invoices paid faster, to complete payroll on their behalf, and to offer capital right when they need it.

Intuit is looking for a Director of Business Operations to serve as a critical strategic and operational partner for our Commercial organization, reporting to the VP Commercial Operations. This executive will lead a team of six, and provide strategic thought partnership; market-backed data-driven strategies; scenario planning, and decision-ready documentation (e.g., whitepapers, decks, memos) to guide senior leadership on where to focus and how to win.

This person will be accountable for driving key in-year growth initiatives, defining our 3- and 1-year planning, and perfect the business operating system. The ideal candidate is a "full-stack" leader—someone who can look around corners to shape a 3-year vision, while rolling up their sleeves to drive the monthly operating rhythm and unlock execution velocity today.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Operations:

  • Lead 3- and 1-year planning. Translate company goals into measurable commercial targets, aligned priorities, resource models, and reliable forecasting processes with cross-functional partners.

  • Ensure the business is strategically represented and positioned at the enterprise level, leading the narrative for corporate planning, budgeting, and investment/headcount reviews.

  • Operating System - Design and run the operating cadence (e.g., forecast reviews, launch/GTM coordination) and operating calendar, enabling consistent cross-functional mechanisms that drive execution and continuous improvement.

  • Operational Oversight - Audit and identify bottlenecks and risks, define standards and a GTM tech roadmap, and drive benchmark-informed improvements (including tech/AI) with PgM and Tech teams to increase execution velocity and efficiency.

Business Performance:

  • Own the KPI and dashboard framework to deliver timely visibility into performance vs. goals and turn reporting and analysis into actionable insights and corrective actions for leadership.

  • Report out and document the performance of the business for the Commercial org - the what happened, the why it happened and what we will do.

  • Track, and optimize headcount and OPEX in partnership with Finance and HR, making strategy- and data-backed recommendations on resource deployment and evolving org design.

  • Oversee the end-to-end program and project management portfolio by setting standards and governance, aligning roadmaps and resources to strategic priorities, and ensuring on-time delivery with clear risks, dependencies, and outcomes communicated to leadership.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Drive alignment and smooth execution across Finance, Analytics, Sales Ops, Product, HR, PgM, and GTM Tech by cascading operating context, aligning goals and priorities, and standardizing key processes (e.g., lead handoffs, pipeline definitions, reporting).

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Table

We're looking for a dynamic and experienced leader who can hit the ground running. Here's what you'll need:

  • Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in business operations & planning, strategic finance, corporate strategy, or management consulting. Experience in a marketing or sales organization is a plus.

  • Executive Presence: Proven experience partnering with and influencing C-suite and VP/SVP-level executives. Ability to build trust, challenge courageously, and drive leadership alignment.

  • Operational Rigor: Deep expertise in building and running operating cadences (MBRs, OKRs, strategic planning cycles) for complex, scaled business units.

  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Demonstrated success in bridging the gap between highly technical teams (Engineering, Product) and commercial teams (Go-To-Market, Sales, Marketing).

  • Analytical Chops: Strong financial and analytical acumen; ability to distill complex data sets into clear, actionable executive-level insights.

Bias for Action: A high-velocity operator who thrives in ambiguity, knows how to diagnose root causes of execution drag, and can independently drive solutions.
