Job Overview

Intuit’s Professional Tax Group (PTG) is seeking a strategic and impact-driven Senior Data Scientist to join our FP&A team. In this role, you will partner closely with Finance leadership, Product, Marketing, and GTM teams to shape data-driven financial strategies that power growth across our professional tax portfolio.

You will build scalable forecasting models, deliver advanced analytics to support investment decisions, and translate complex financial and operational data into actionable insights for executive leadership. This is a high-visibility role with direct influence on planning, pricing, revenue strategy, and long-range growth modeling.

Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Modeling & Forecasting

  • Develop and enhance predictive models for revenue, customer growth, retention, and margin optimization.
  • Build driver-based and AI forecasting models to support Annual Planning, Long-Range Planning (LRP), and rolling forecasts.
  • Conduct scenario modeling and sensitivity analysis to guide investment decisions and resource allocation.

KPI Definition & Performance Analytics

  • Define and standardize financial and operational KPIs across PTG (e.g., revenue growth, customer acquisition cost, lifetime value, attach rates, renewal trends).
  • Partner with FP&A and business leaders to create robust measurement frameworks aligned to company goals.
  • Identify leading indicators of performance and proactively surface risks and opportunities.

Advanced Analytics & Experimentation

  • Apply statistical modeling, causal inference, and experimentation frameworks to evaluate pricing, promotions, packaging, and growth initiatives.
  • Support experimentation design and impact measurement for key strategic initiatives.
  • Leverage AI and machine learning techniques to uncover growth opportunities and optimize financial outcomes.

Executive Insights & Data Storytelling

  • Translate complex financial and operational data into compelling narratives and executive-ready insights.
  • Deliver high-impact visualizations and dashboards that enable leadership to make fast, informed decisions.
  • Influence cross-functional strategy discussions with data-backed recommendations.

Data Infrastructure & Enablement

  • Partner with Data Engineering to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and automation of financial reporting.
  • Enable self-serve analytics capabilities for Finance and business stakeholders.
  • Improve scalability and efficiency of recurring reporting and planning processes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Corporate Finance teams.
  • Align financial analytics with go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and product investment decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted thought partner between Finance and business leaders.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data science, advanced analytics, or quantitative finance roles (experience supporting FP&A, Revenue, or software businesses strongly preferred)
  • Strong expertise in financial modeling, forecasting methodologies, and scenario analysis
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience working with large-scale data environments (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Spark, BigQuery)
  • Proficiency in AI, Python or R for statistical modeling and machine learning
  • Experience with BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Qlik)
  • Strong understanding of financial metrics (AOPC, churn, retention, LTV/CAC, attach rate, usage rate)
  • Experience applying experimentation and causal inference methods in business settings
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders through clear data storytelling
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate ambiguous strategic questions into analytical frameworks
  • Experience working in fast-paced, matrixed organizations
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related quantitative field; Master’s preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Finance or FP&A teams in a SaaS, subscription-based, and/or perpetual purchase business
  • Familiarity with pricing strategy analytics and revenue optimization
  • Experience with AI/GenAI applications in financial planning or decision intelligence
  • Knowledge of enterprise financial planning systems (e.g., Hyperion, SAP, Oracle)
