Job Overview
The Commercial Operations team is responsible for defining and guiding Intuit’s mid-to-long term commercialization and go-to-market strategy for the Small Business segment of the Global Business Solutions Group (GBSG) . The team works on highly visible, direction setting initiatives and is focused on identifying and evaluating opportunities to drive growth across all aspects of the business in partnership with the senior leadership team.
As a Principal, you’ll play a critical part in guiding strategic, data-driven decisions for our highest-priority focus areas. In this role, you will be responsible for strategic planning to define priorities, analyzing business performance and aligning execution of organization initiatives. You will guide teams to translate learnings into actionable recommendations, frame options and facilitate trade-off decisions that maximize growth and ensure that the company is focused on the highest priority investments.
Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Execution: Partner with leaders on strategy and scenario planning to define priorities, shape investment decisions, and ensure strategic alignment. Own the documentation of business strategy (e.g. whitepapers, strategy decks, decision documents). Develop and execute key business initiatives to drive growth and profitability. Run and facilitate the quarterly and annual planning process.
Business Performance Measurement: Analyze business health & performance, setting/maintaining the KPI framework, identify trends and opportunities, and develop insights that inform key decisions. Develop presentations and reports for senior leadership to communicate findings, recommendations, and progress on initiatives, including weekly, monthly, and quarterly business updates.
Operational Systems & Execution: Lead cross-functional transformation programs to modernize operational systems, driving efficiency and executional discipline across the business rhythm.
Qualifications
This role demands a blend of analytical prowess, operational expertise, and leadership skills to drive effective business strategies and operational efficiencies in a complex and evolving environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree such as an MBA preferred.
10 years of experience in strategy consulting, business operations, or a related field, with a documented track record of delivering 7-figure impact or driving multi-year strategic outcomes within a large technology company.
Analytical Problem Solver: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis, financial modeling, and KPI trend analysis. Required proficiency in data analysis tools, including SQL, Tableau, or equivalent data visualization platforms.
Strategic & Tactical Leadership: Blends pragmatic execution with a keen strategic vision and business acumen. Exhibits extreme ownership for high-impact decisions and is comfortable driving both long-term vision and short-term tactical delivery.
Change Leadership & Ambiguity Tolerance: Proven ability to navigate, embrace, and lead teams through uncertainty, incomplete information, and rapid change. Demonstrates the perseverance and grit required to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously and maintain cross-functional alignment in a dynamic, high-growth environment.
Executive Influence and Alignment: Skilled in earning executive trust and collaborating with key stakeholders to establish a shared vision, common goal framework, and prioritization principles. Communicates a clear point of view and translates complex strategy into a compelling, data-backed narrative that influences action and guides critical decision-making at the executive level.
Professional Candor: Maintains a relationship-minded approach that balances empathy and directness, enabling the delivery of tough messages and pushing beyond comfort zones with professionalism and grace.
