Staff Product Designer, Fintech/Money

Category Design & User Experience Location Mountain View, California; San Francisco, California Job ID 19740

Company Overview

Intuit is the global financial technology platform that powers prosperity for the people and communities we serve. With approximately 100 million customers worldwide using products such as TurboTax, Credit Karma, QuickBooks, and Mailchimp, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper. We never stop working to find new, innovative ways to make that possible.

Job Overview

  • Design craft + end-to-end execution (high bar, hands-on): You lead end-to-end product design work from discovery through launch. You produce strong interaction design, clear flows, and high-fidelity UI with a thoughtful point of view on quality, usability, and customer trust.
  • Platform mindset + consistency through systems thinking: You look for opportunities to create coherent experiences across surfaces, journeys, and teams. You identify overlaps and dependencies, and you design with reuse in mind, improving consistency in terminology, patterns, and workflows. You build strong, trust-based partnerships with product teams, aligning early on goals and decision-making, and co-creating platform solutions that teams can adopt with minimal friction.
  • Evidence-driven decision making (customer insight + data fluency): You define success criteria, regularly use research and product data, and bring evidence into decisions in a practical way. You identify when evidence is missing and help drive the right research or measurement plan, communicating recommendations with clear rationale tied to customer and business outcomes.
  • Cross-functional partnership (technical and business judgment): You work closely with product and engineering to understand constraints and tradeoffs, advocate for quality from concept through implementation, and make strong decisions within real-world business and compliance considerations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design for complex initiatives in Fintech/Money, owning outcomes from discovery to the shipped experience.
  • Partner with product management, engineering, data, and research to frame problems, define success, and drive decisions.
  • Create flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that balance customer needs, risk compliance considerations, and technical feasibility.
  • Drive coherence across journeys by identifying pattern opportunities and aligning with design system guidance.
  • Use data and customer insight to evaluate tradeoffs, iterate designs, and measure impact post-launch.
  • Improve how the team works by strengthening planning inputs, critique quality, documentation, and shared standards.
  • Mentor other designers through feedback, pairing, and craft leadership within projects.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of product design experience with a portfolio showing end-to-end ownership and shipped impact (Fintech experience is a plus, but not mandatory).
  • Strong interaction design and prototyping skills, with the ability to communicate design rationale and tradeoffs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and drive alignment through ambiguity.
  • Comfort working with data and using it to inform design strategy and decisions.
