As a Processor II, Insurance Operations at Assurely, you will perform administrative and underwriting support functions for the organization, reporting directly to the Manager, Insurance Operations. Your role will work closely with the Client / Advisory team to achieve and sustain the production, quality, and service goals of the department. Other primary responsibilities include project work.

This is an intermediate operation position that offers a unique opportunity for continued growth and insurance skill development, specifically in the start-up space. You'll be an integral part of our team, handling a variety of tasks that require attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a passion for providing exceptional service to our clients and business partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Insurance Solution Placement (in collaboration with Client / Advisory team):

    • Application Review: Assist in reviewing insurance applications to ensure completeness and accuracy of information provided.

    • Risk Assessment: Assist in gathering and preparing relevant risk information, including financial and other pertinent documents.

    • Communication: Communicate with clients, agents, or carriers via phone or email to request additional information, clarify details, and resolve any discrepancies.

    • Documentation: Generate and distribute quotes, binders, policies, certificates, and endorsements, ensuring quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

  • Escalation Customer Service Support: Handle more complex inquiries from clients, agents, or other departments via phone or email, providing detailed information and resolution.

  • Claims Handling: Assist in the claims handling process, including receipt of first-notice of claim, information and documentation collection, coordination with claims adjustors, client communications and expectation, and file management.

  • Billing / Invoicing Monitoring: Provide support for billing and collection activities, including invoicing and payment processing of more complex accounts and issues. 

  • Process Improvement: Actively participant in ongoing efforts to create new operational processes and efficiencies and suggest improvements of pre-existing ones. 

  • Support: Provide guidance and support to junior processors and other team members.

  • Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or another related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • 2+ years of experience in the insurance sector, in operations, claims, customer service, or sales.  

  • Familiarity with insurance products, terminology, and regulations.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision through transactional tasks. 

  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills; shown obsession with hitting deadlines and goals. 

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. 

  • Enthusiasm for the insurance industry and willingness to learn and grow. 

  • Ability to work independently with direction as well as part of a diverse team. Demonstrated ability to lead or mentor junior processors or other team members.   

  • Customer-centric. 

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and insurance-specific software with a willingness to learn.

The compensation package is a combination of salary, business development-based compensation, equity, health insurance, and being part of the mission to create the future norm of the insurance industry.
